Fuur betyder ild og øen fik måske sit navn fra synet af de ildrøde molerklinter, fremkaldende livet gennem millioner af år, formet af havets og vindens bevægelser.
For ét flygtigt øjeblik besøger et lillebitte japansk hus øen. Et rum for te af en japansk kunstner, tegnet af en dansk arkitekt, bygget med en japansk arkitekt. Komponeret af naturens materialer, fastholdt for en stund som tehus inden det igen vender tilbage til Jordens kredsløb. En ramme for møder mellem to kulturer i en uigenkaldelig begivenhed der gensidigt spejler dansk og japansk natur i hinanden.
Hanako Miwa, Rikitoshi Yamakawa og Alex H. Lee præsenterer Hanako's Teahouse på Fur Museum d. 11-15. oktober.
Foruden tehuset vil også værker fra Hanako's serie Eternity udstilles på museet.
The artists:
Hanako Miwa
Born in Hagi, Japan, and educated at Tama Art University in Tokyo, the University of Wales and the Slade School of Fine Art,
University College London, Hanako Miwa is an artist who uses her ethereal sensibility to create ceramic installations and tea wear based on traditional techniques.
Her family has been producing pottery since mid-17th century. Hanako is the first female ceramicist in her family and her works can be found in museum collections in the US and Japan.
Rikitoshi Yamakawa
Born in Yatsushiro, Japan, and graduated from Yatsushiro National College of Technology, Rikitoshi Yamakawa is an architect specialized in stage, exhibition and architectural design.
Having previously worked for MAZDA, he now oversees stage design and construction as a director at Fullstage Co. Ltd. in Hiroshima.
Among his major works are the construction of Hiroshi Sambuichi's "The Water" 2017 exhibition at Cisternerne in Frederiksberg, Denmark.
Alex H. Lee
Born in Copenhagen. Architect and educator, teaching and researching at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Institute of Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape as assistant professor.
Previously worked at Lundgaard & Tranberg architects and Hiroshi Sambuichi architects about whose work he has contributed in several books and articles.
In 2019 he completed his Ph.D. studies under the title "An Endemic Architecture" exploring the mutual influences of form between architecture and natural phenomena, solid and fluid matter.
